My drawing for the "Year of the Rabbit" show at GR2 is done! That was exhausting but so rewarding.

Hi, hello, how are you?

So, 2011, year of the rabbit, what do you have in store for me?

This year is already charged and action packed, with many many shows and projects coming up. I already had my first one of the year at my high school which was a blast, I even sold a piece!

Get ready for some show dates:

Next up is a group show at this place called Que Sera in Long Beach, which will be happening this Sunday, January 16th at 9pm.

Then after that, I will be part of the "Year of the Rabbit" show at GR2, which opens on February 5th. I'm excited for the piece I'm making for this show.

In the middle of February I'm putting on a long awaited show, called "We Are All Animals" with friends from all over. It'll be held at BAMM TV in the soma district of San Francisco. There will be some pretty awesome artists in the line-up and I can't wait. More details to come when I get em.

In March I've got a part in the "Letter Collector" at Gallery Hijinks on March 5th (ooh that's my birthday!) in the mission district of SF. I'll be contributing two letters.

Also, my show at Abbot's Habit will be up for the rest of January so check it out while it's still up!!

Well that's all of the show dates for now. I got a new camera, so here is some eye candy for you:

Spinning swinging in my wrecked shoes
A stage from Alexis's stop motion animation
Orian at the Broom Factory
In progress painting (more symmetry)

going back to high school

I am quite excited to announce that I will be participating in a group art show this January 7th hosted by my high school art teacher Amy Bouse at the old gallery where I had my 2006 senior show. It seems like it was another lifetime, but it was only 4 years ago! Crazy.

The show is called "Homegrown" and will feature works from teachers, students and alumni. Half of the proceeds will go to the art department and the other half will go to the artists.

Here is the link to the facebook page. Please come!

I'll be putting in my "Sink Hole" drawing as well as two others that I made this year:

"Plummet"

"Plumes"

Alexandros Vasmoulakis

One of my favorite artists currently. His murals and installations are a great source of inspiration for me. The sheer scale of some of them, use of color and perspective, etc...so good. I am just always amazed every time I look at his work. One day I'll go see them in real life!

Floored

Did a painting on the floor of the warehouse last night using some oops paint I had.
A Troy on the left for scale, he moved before I could take a good picture of him lying down!
